Question please help '87 grand am

OK straight to the point here. Car starts fine and most of the time it idles decent as well. My problem started about a month ago with just a little hesitation a normal speed. It then progressed to a jerk like it was running out of gas(or maybe to much gas?) when going around corners and would sometimes die. When i would restart it would sometimes have a small backfire. Now it does it when ever it feels like it. At normal speeds, around curves and turns on the highway and around turns. It is a very severe jerk. Like it is running out of gas but worse(and yes it has plenty of gas). Can someone please help?

FOund problem. The plug to the MAP sensor has some bare wires. A hose to the power steering pump is laying on them and is pulling them from the plug. Temp fix was to pull back hose and push up wires but is only temp fix. Dealership said three weeks to order for 40 bucks.
