99 Passat 1.8t Tranny Oil

I have an appointment tommorow to get my tranny flushed and get new fluids. Does anyone have any input on if I should have it done or not? The car has 84,000 and Iam sure it has never been done. She shift pretty smooth but I think it can be better on the downshifting. Any suggestions anyone?

use only vw fluid and reccomend them dropping the transmission pan and replacing the transmission filter and pan gasket. It will be at least 300.00 but it saves you the 3000 on a new transmission
