I own a 2001 Pathfinder, 81K miles. Purchased new and absolutely still love this vehicle. Little to no problems.

Lately I've noticed a sight 'roaring' noise when reaching 50-55 MPH and above. Not loud, very suttle.

Don't know if it's as simple as new tires (probably need anyway) or if a more expensive problem, such as shocks, struts, etc.

Any suggestions before this female takes the Pathfinder to a repair shop and get taken advantage of ???

Tires have been know to cause a Roaring sound . Feel the edges of the tires and visually look at them . do they look evenly worn ?are tires feathered? . Alignment ever been done? If vech alignment is off it's passable it can cause excessive tire wear and noises . So if you feel you Need tires start there first, with an Alignment , If noise is still present , it's passably a wheel bearing may be going . Suspension noises usually do not roar they knock . Did you have front brakes done some what recently? It's passable they may have not adjusted the front wheel bearing properly if so. GL

Does it change as you go side to side or does it change as you apply more thrust (accelerate). If it's side to side it's probably a bearing. If it's thrust related it could be universal joint or rear end. If it doesn't change it's most probably tires. Since you are saying it's between certain specific speeds, I'd bet on tires.
