'95 Taurus won't start (Was: chaneada)

Just out of curiosity, what does the original subject mean?

Which engine does your '95 have, the 12V, 24V or SHO?

Are you SURE that you don't have spark? Do you have plenty of fuel, or are the injectors not firing either?

You may have a bad crankshaft position sensor and/or camshaft position sensor.

What is your battery voltage? If the battery voltage drops too low during the cranking, the PCM will not function properly and may not be triggering the coil(s).

Re: chaneada

Since in your private message you mention your car has the 3.8L, then you probably have the Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) in your distributor rather than a crankshaft and camshaft position sensor. If the PIP is bad, it will not send a signal to the PCM or the Thick Film Integrated (TFI) ignition module which triggers the coil. If the PIP is working but the TFI ignition module is not, again you would not get spark.

Since your fuel injectors are firing, I would suspect that the PIP is working properly. The TFI ignition module is the most likely suspect based on the information you've provided.

Good luck!

Re: chaneada

Yep, sorry, I didn't notice that you already listed the ignition module in your original post.

At this point, I'm not sure how much more I can help without actually seeing the car in person with an oscilloscope. You don't happen to have an oscilloscope, do you?

Have you checked for voltage to the primary of the coil and checked for spark out of the coil?

What state are you located in?
