Yesterday was a great day; I washed my engine bay out for the first time and covered all the electrical sensors/battery/alternator, etc... Unfortunately, later in the evening, I noticed a squeaking sounds when I pressed or released my brake. I later investigated it and found it to be the Vacuum Booster. It made a squeeking sound. My buddy (who is also a mechanic) said that some fluid could have possibly got into the booster and I should not worry about it. He told me to drive it for a week and see if it goes away.

Has anyonhe in here experienced this? If so any tips?

Dunno. Ride it out for a week or so to see if it goes away. I spray the heck out of my engine compartments (always have) & never ran into that one!

I also have squeaky noises braking on/off...somewhere above the brake pedal. I'm thinking about having an expert (mechanic) check it out. If so, I'll keep you posted - if you find a fix, please post!

off the topic, but it seems you may be all set.

Anyway, about engine cleaning;
I've always wanted to do this, but I am too scared. It's odd because I know the Rodeo engine gets wet, there's not a lot of protection. I've gone through a lot of deep puddles and you can tell from my engine compartment.

Realistically, how safe is it to spreay ther engine area out? What should I cover? What should I use to cover it?

Well,

This is what I did, whether or not it was the right way; I did this per-the-books (well the forum members) on my Acura Legend I once had and never had a problem.

I had a slight problem with this and believe it could actually be coincidence as well.

I parked in car wash and removed the negative battery terminal and let the car sit for a few minutes to remove a "charge" from within the system (not sure if this is over excessive, but I felt better). Also, make sure it is not a packed day at the car wash to not annoy the hell out of anyway.

I covered the following with plastic grocery store bags:

battery
fuse box


I sprayed degreaser on the engine and let sit then I used the power wash and rinse and rinsed everything out. It looked great and brand new! Wish I had some before and after pics.

Okay, I put the car in nuetral and rolled it out of the car wash port and to the side leaving the battery unconnected and wiped soaked spots under the engine. I let it air dry while I detailed the rest of my car and then I connected the negative and started it.

Not sure if this is the right way, but it appeared to be fine

my opinion is that if it does not have a distributer and if it has a lid on it clean the piss out of it your mechanic will love you for it.
any dirty Isuzu I get gets a good cleaning before it leaves the shop. Not necesasarily for cust. satisfaction I am the on who will work on it next time its in. for the brake squeak remove the two nuts holding the brake master cylinder in place do not remove the brake lines off iof it unless you are willing to bleed brake sys. out. pull the brake master twoard the front of the vehicle about 1/2 inch spray it down with lithium spray ahould take care of the problem.
