What is the difference between the A340 and the A43 transmissions? Are they interchangable? I have an 89 Pickup w/ a 22RE, and an A43D transmission. Which one is the better transmission(gear ratios, strength, reliability)? I've started having problems with my transmission, and I'm thinking of replacing it. I have always kept my truck well maintained(225,000 miles and still going), but the trans seems to be on it's way out. Would I be able to switch to an A340, or will I need to get another A43D?
