'56 Ford F100?

I just bought a '56 Ford F100 and needs engine and tranny. Was wondering what the best engine and tranny would be for it? Money isn't a factor. I just want the best engine and tranny for show quality. The rest of the truck has been fully restored. I want alot of power, yet nice for shows. If anyone can give me a link or any info. I would be very thankful.

Re: '56 Ford F100?

I saw an Overhauling show on TV where they dropped a 347
Roush engine and some sophisticated re-programmed tranny into Chip Foose's own 1955 Ford. Maybe you can find a link to the programme and get a copy of it. Did a sweet job on it too!

Most have a small block Chevrolet under the hood if hot roded. You will not find one with a Ford engine under the hood if you are lucky. As the saying is,Ford tough with Chevy stuff.
