Comp Cams Valve Springs

I have a set of comp cams valve springs that I am putting on with the cam I bought. My question is, they are outer springs with dampers that start at one side and do not go all the way through the outer spring... if that makes any sense. I was wondering if anyone knows weather or not they need to be installed a certain way? Thanks.

Re: Comp Cams Valve Springs

Are you talking about duals?

Re: Comp Cams Valve Springs

If you are asking about singles w/Dampers, the damper is frequently shorter (in height) than the spring. The damper will make contact on both the seat and retainer once the spring is installed at the correct height (usually around 1.7" on a SBC stock head and most aftermarkets).
