Suspension...Death or doable?mtcs 03-28-2006, 12:04 PM Have 01 cherokee sport 4x4 with 25000 miles on it. I was wondering is there such a suspension kit out there that would allow me to adjust my suspension height (lift) electronically from the inside of my vehicle. Does this exist? Is it air bags or what?? the reason I need it to be electronically controller is because my garage has very low clearance and I have to park in there due to no parking on the street allowed. I want to be able to have the jeep down to stock height to get in and out of the garage, then when i leave have it be able to lift 4 inches higher. And the same goes for having the 4inch lift then dropping it down to stock height before I enter my garage. If I leave it at 4 inches and don't have an electronically controlled system and try to enter my garage, I will no longer have a roof. Thanks for any help Ben dave92cherokee 03-28-2006, 11:10 PM There probably is an airbag setup out there that can do what you are talking about but I haven't found it yet. I was watching extreme 4x4 a couple of weeks ago on spike tv and they put an airbag lift kit on a dodge ram and it could lift it between 5 and 13 inches. So there is probably one available for the cherokee's but haven't found it yet, haven't really done any major looking, but I did have an airbag setup on a s10 I used to own to lower it and it could be adjusted for 0 to 6 inches of lowering so I don't see why the same design couldn't be used to lift a jeep. Best thing to do is go to the companie's website and contact their tech support or marketing dept. and see if they have a kit available. IdahoJeeper 03-30-2006, 12:24 AM Hi guys! Just wondering what is the purpose of your lift, function or looks? What kind of driving are you using it for most of the time? The reason I ask, on my last XJ, I installed air shocks in the back to help with a little load stabilization and at the same time got a little bit of lift out of it. Gabriel made the shocks, can't remember the number off hand but I think their web site has an app finder. Then you use a small compressor and air controls. Money will set you free...:2cents: Repo_agent 03-30-2006, 10:42 PM Air shocks suck. Looking for load help go with coil over shocks. Air bags are the only way your going to raise and lower your vehicle like you want. You should be contacting air bag suspension companys to see whats out there. Go to popular web sites too to see whats out there. Summitracing.com might have something you need, if not contact thier support crew and someone will direct you. Would it be better to raise your garage door height as you raise your Cherokee? I couldnt imagine how low your garage door is. I had a 1977 Chevy with 40" tires that fit in my garage. barely but it fit Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
