torque converter = bad?
everytime i drive my 91 z28 camaro the torque converter seems to slip after every shift and then grabs takes about 1 second to grab to the next gear.
is my torque converter shot?
i just replaced the transmission, maybe i dont have enough tranny fluid in it, i checked it when the tranny was hot, and it read full.
what do you guys think?

Re: torque converter = bad?
Sounds more like the throttle valve cable isn't set quite right. Higfh probability there.
OR, maybe, just maybe the converter isn't seated all the way, unlikely thou because it woul;d have been a pain to put back together and it should sound a bit funky too.

Re: torque converter = bad?
the manual explains exactly what to do to adjust it. Basically the more tension on the cable (aka TV cable) the more valve pressure. Dont mess with this too much as it can mess up your trans. Its designed to be self adjusting. There should be a small metal or plastic tab that you can push in that will allow you the push the cable housing all the way back into the adjuster. Then push the throttle pedal all the way down and it should adjust to where it needs to be. You can give it a little more to give a slighly snappier shift and a higher shift point but just remember that a little bit does a lot.

Re: torque converter = bad?
you didn't put too MUCH fluid in, right??? that's as bad if not worse than not having enough fluid
