Took the filler cap off the engine to find a milky residue on the bottom of the cap. Pulled the dipstick out and the oil looks fine. No sign of water. Checked the PVC valve and it has the same residue. It has been cold here and I have a fairly short drive to and from work. The car hasn't lost any coolant and the intake gaskets aren't leaking. Could it be something in the emissions systems is pluged up or just condensation (but it seems a little excessive) Anybody else run into this? Anything I should be looking at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i don't think it's anything to worry about. its just water that hasn't burned off inside your engine.

If the residue has an orangish tint, you have a bad intake gasket, and the milky deposits are a mixture of coolant and oil. If it's tan, then it's only condensation buildup due to the short trips you do and nothing to worry about. Keep a close eye on your oil condition and level. If it gets cloudy, or starts creeping up the dipstick, you're getting coolant in the oil and it will eventually wash the crank bearings or the lifters, and you'll have major $$$$ repairs to do.
