targa tops

For starters I have a 98 Camaro so I don't know anything about Corvettes. I put ttops in my coupe car about a year ago and that was neat but now I want to put a targa top in, doesn't seem like much more work. My question is, does anyone know the dimensions of the Corvette's targa tops? The more years with different body styles the better, I'm looking for one that would hopefully fit my Camaro with as little modification as possible. Thanks for any help!

Re: targa tops

That's a very cool site but I can't find anything specific about the dimensions of a targa top. I need to know if the latches will line up with the ttop latches or what vehicle I would need a targa top from to make fit. Thanks again for the link.

You could try a junkyard and ask them to measure it. I don't know anyone on AF with a C5 yet.

Re: targa tops

I live in Kentucky, few people can afford a Corvette here and I've never seen one at a junk yard in my whole life.

Re: targa tops

let me know if your still looking and i can get you the measurements tonight. I have the fiberglass targa sitting in my garage already off, so it would be really easy to measure it. It seems like i'm always a pessimist on here, but i kinda doubt it would work. You would have to, at the very least, cut out the middle support for your t-tops, and then I don't think they attach the same way. The targa tops of a c4 attach with four torx-bit screws, one near each corner. They look quite a bit differently too especially because of the frame around the vette's targa top. Here's a couple links to show you the differences:

Re: targa tops

Thanks, I had no clue how they locked as I have never actually seen a targa top up close enough to pay attention. Sorry it's so late, but if you have the measurements that would be great, if you don't it's okay and thanks again.
