very nice truck. i had a 95 silverado that was black. i loved that truck, but after washing and cleaning it for the better part of an afternoon, you just look at it and it was dirty again. after i sold that truck i said i would never own another black vehicle.

this truck would look better in red anyway. just my opinion, for what it's worth.

It's alright. The whole intimidator theme throws it off for me. Originally I thought I would never own another black vehicle, but I know I will. it's not as difficult to keep clean imo.

I used to own a black 97 x-cab Silverado, and I didn't seem to have a problem keeping it "clean". I lived on a dirt road, so no matter what color, it would get dirty, but black didn't seem to be any worse than any other colors.

A1 is a company that manufactures power window kits for trucks with manual windows, it cost me about $275 for the kit for two doors.
And the dumped muffler means its cut off right after the muffler, in front of the rear axle, and the "tip" is a turndown. basically you cant see any exhaust pipes, and the turndown makes the exhaust tones bounce off the floor and echo under the car... which make it sound louder.

If I remember right the sticker price was right about $39,000. I am not sure what he paid for it though. He put his name on the list to get one over a year ago.

The intimidator SS package I believe has about 390hp under the hood, at least that is what the sticker said at the dealership.

That is a very nice truck!!!!!! I wish I had one.

i see there havent been any post in a couple days but i just got my internet workin again finally. 390 hp is nice but $40 grand for an SS with one exhaust pipe? these overbadged "Super Sports" are the reason GM is so far in the red all the time. its a shame really cuz nobody wants SS on their grille as much as me but its the truth.now gimme that in 2wd with a 5 or 6 speed and maybe i would consider puttin out that kinda cash.sorry if i stepped on any toes.

Believe it or not, but the MPG on this are pretty good. 18-19 highwy and 15-16 city.. not bad for a 390 hp truck.. Ford can not claim that nor can Dodge.

yea, im pretty sure it comes with the LQ9 6.0. the same that comes in Eascalades, Vortech Max silverado's, and regular SS's. I just feel you could make a custom truck with alot more power for that kinda cash.

The Standard SS comes with the 345 hp 6.0 but there is a chevy truck out there, I want to say it is the Dale Earnhart package(?) that has the 390 hp. I saw it here in Sterling, Va dealer. it was a nice setup. I do not know if the Intimadator SS package is the same.

For some reason, it doesn't Intimadate me or anything like that. It's s nice and good looking truck, but for that money it should be more than nice and good looking. I'd run him for slips so I could have a nice family truck, but as far as buying it strickly for a "performance" truck.......... :shakehead

A Lightening is alot lighter and more agile than a ECSB Chevy would be. AWD or not.

They did make the SS 2wd, but it still really no comparison as far as performance goes. As Nigel215 stated, the L is just alot smaller, more agile, and overall built on a performance platform. The SS is a really nice packaged interior, but we all know an ecsb is just not the greatest starting point for a performance truck. It's a heavy pig, especially with add ons such as those heavy ass 20" wheels/etc. It's comparing a mid/high 14 second truck to a mid/high 13 second truck. Now if the SS ever goes single cab, that will be a apples to apples comparison. It's still good to know that GM can stay away from forced induction and still run with the FI Ford products. :evillol:

slowprocess what exactly r ur et's now? mine still stock save for a dual exhaust and k&n intake. i wanna do more cuz it looks like ill have it for a while, but im tryin to get the most i can for my money. should a nelson tune be next? im sorry i went off topic i just wanted to ask since u posted on here. on topic tho: i agree as far as the lightning bein a better performance truck. i dont like givin ford credit, but they did go against most peoples logic and stay wit a reg cab for theirs. its honestly a truck thats made to be fast not just look fast. u can always go with Gibbs tho, they mod any silverado u bring to em

Before the tranny and converter went bye bye, my best 1/8 to date was a 7.40@93, which would equate out to something along the 11.7 range. The 1/4 track was closed the last day I ran, so I could only get the 1/8 time. This was on a 100 shot. Now, I've stepped up to an even stouter 4l60e, a 3800 stall(over the 3000 I've been running), and I'm now sitting on the 150 jets. I've also purchased a full 4-link/coilover setup to replace the leaf spring setup when I get the tranny back in. The rear calipers are being shaved for 15" wheels and a good set of slicks(over the crappy DOT drag radials I've had no success with). If I don't run a high 10 this year, I'm going to be pissed!!!!

A tune is always a good place to start when looking for more power. These things come so detuned from the factory, especially when you have a few bolt on mods. Nelson does a terrific job(remember he's still mail order tuning for me and I have a pretty intense setup).

thats sweet. a full siz p/u runnin 10s and 11s and bein street driven. my friends dad told me the other day ill never outrun the r/t dakota one of my other friends has. i kinda laughed but wasnt gonna argue. im pretty sure the nelson tune is next. by the end of summer itll definitely be in
