Hello,
Today I replaced the rear sway bar bushings on my girlfriends 1990 Camry. the car had a bad clunking noise coming from the rear of the car. I did a search of the forum and found out the bushings are usually the cause of the noise. I removed the old bushings and cleaned up the bushing brackets and the sway bar where the bushings attatch. first with a wire brush, then with one of those green pads that is used to scrub dishes. I lubricated the bushings with vegetable oil before I installed them. I took the car for a drive and most of the clunking noise was gone.

once the new bushings were installed I noticed I could still move the swaybar somewhat even with the brand new bushings.

could the bushings I bought be the wrong size? I bought the bushings at advanced auto. the name brand is
TRW # HB1828. On the box it says front end bushings.
the car was manufactured in June of 1990 and was made/assembled in america. I don't know if this makes a difference or not. if anyone can shed some light on this situation I would appreciate it.Thank You.
Regards,
JOET/CAMRY
