I have a Question about shocks 03 civic?

So I bought Tien lowering springs (about an inch and a half drop with original shocks). But before I bought the tien I had skunk 2 coilovers and came across a big problem!!! I lost alot of tracktion in my front wheels. The road would be completly dry and I would peel out half way though 2nd gear? I got the Tien springs thinking that would fix it (I was wrong). Bad tracktion along with a really bumpy ride; WILL NEW PROFORMANCE SHOCKS FIX THE PROBLEMS??? I need someones help, I am tired of waisting my money on the wrong problems

Did you align your wheels after installing new drop springs? How about a camber kit?

yeah lowering the car increases negative camber. This reduces the tires contact patch on the ground when you are going in a straight line, but increases grip when you take a corner. You need to get a camber kit. Also better tires would make a huge improvement.

SPC 01-05 Civic camber kit look it up excellent product. Also you should have bought Tein coilovers and saved your self headaches. When doing a drop over an inch shocks would be required for ride quality and durability. Are you running OEM wheels or aftermarket?

Re: I have a Question about shocks 03 civic?

I did align all 4 wheels and I have aftermarket rims with Nito Tires which worked GREAT before I got the Springs! So I am hearing get a Camber kit, and new Shocks? Would it be cheaper to just get high dollar coilovers or would I still need a camber kit for that too?

Coilovers 900$ Teins thats the price you will pay. Does that fit your budget then yes buy good quality stuff. You will need a camber kit if you going low but mainly for the back tires. I did not need the front camber fixed on my Teins and I was running a big drop, wasnt too affecting. First thing I would do in your situation since you already ahve the spring is buy a Camber kit. See how it feels and runs. Then price out your shocks, and make your decision. Either way you will need a camber kit. Also do you have an upper strut tower?

Re: I have a Question about shocks 03 civic?

Get a camber kit and also invest in a good set of shocks. Even if you spend a lot of money on springs, you won't get the full benefit out of them unless you get reasonable shock. Mostly springs take care of how much suspension will travel, but the shocks are the ones that sets how fast that movement happens. So even if you get nice set of springs, you can still get bumpy ride, if shocks are not there to supplement the springs. And Coilovers usually do not come with shocks.
