87 F150 no fuel pressure?

ok, this truck has been sitting for about 2 years. when i last drove it, it was on the road for about 5 days. i had just replaced the ignition module and it shut off again and never restarted. i replaced the pick up/stator inside the distributer along with the coil. when i replaced the stator the new one had a magnetic pull that i didn't have in the old one so i figured i had it. wrong! i've talked to several motorheads and have determined that i'm either not getting my pulse which comes from the ignition module(replaced this twice) or i'm not getting the right fuel pressure. i had my son crank the engine while i put a tire guage on the fuel pressure port located on the supply rail. the pressure read 0psi with the engine turning. was i an idiot and used the wrong type of pressure guage or is this the indication of a bad part and if so what the hell is it? and where is it located? because my wife is ready to sell me and the truck. thank you for your time
*note: this is a 4.9 inline six with about five thousand miles on it. just about everything mechanical has been replaced on it.
