remote oil cooler/filter lines (need a quick reply)

so I'm out doing my oil cooler and filter lines.

I got the Dorman lines (100, and 001?) from Rockauto. I also got the gasket kit which is 4 o rings, 2 smaller o-rings, and two gaskets.

I got the oil cooler line off, but there are no o-rings on the old lines. There are two crush washers. The new Dorman lines have one large metal washer that goes around both holes. Also, the have a rubber seal sort of pressed into the lines.

So, the question is, do I need these orings? Why are there only 6? Why are 2 smaller than the other? I think the gaskets are for the adapter assembly back on the block, and so I probably won't need these ... ???

I didn't use them on mine either. I think its only for the lines that don't have the rubber seals pressed onto them.

Where exactly are the lines leaking? The Gasket kit can be ordered by Advance Auto, its Fel Pro ES 70016. But if you use the dorman lines you don't need the O rings. I didn't use the small O rings but needed the gaskets and big O ring for the filter adaptor as thats where mine was leaking.

Same here. I didn't use the o-rings. The doormans didn't need them.

the lines themselves are not leaking. it is leaking where the lines comming from the engine connect to the oil filter (crush washers are allowing oil sepage)
