auotmatic trans to manual

The transmission in my dads car does not shift out of third sometimes and I was wondering what the problem could be and I was wondering how much trouble it would be to put a manual in.

Im not exactly sure but you might need to reprogram the software. Other than that, holes got to be cut, and make sure you got a tranny that will fit. If you got the stick on the floor than thats less work that will have to be done. Hope this little bit helped.

You can keep the stock pcm, your just going to get an SES light all the time because the auto tranny has an extra sensor that the manual one doesn't have.

Basically if you can find a good deal on a 5 speed and you've got some mechanical knowledge it wouldn't be too bad to do on your own. Otherwise your looking at anywhere between 600 and 1000 dollars to get it done.
