Changing Column Shifter to Floor

ok heres what i want to do, in my 95 blazer i got a column shifter right now and i want to switch it to a floor shifter and put a b&m in it. i already know how i want to mount it but i just dont know how it would hook up if i have a column right now. if anyone knows what to do or if i can even do that please let me know, thanks for the info.
