It sounds like the oil was not properly delivered to some parts. It's usually sludge that glogges up the oil holes. My understanding of that is if different oils were used (i.e. pensoil, castrol, mama/papa oil) then the different additives do not mix, hense producing oil sludge--hardened materials. I think only solution is the synthetic oil which has smaller molecules and last longer too. Also, i think you can see it from the top of the oil filling cap, when removed.
As far as rust in the engine, if car was run at least once per day or two days, then rust should not seize the engine, but worn out the rings, in my opinion.
Get your receipts from oil change, if you have any and go from there, or find out what oil was used in your car.
