E36 318is with E46 328 Wheels - Picsjaqkar 07-04-2002, 03:24 PM Hi from South Africa My first post on this forum, just put on some new wheels a couple of days ago and wanna show it to you guys, I also installed my pdc tonight, 3rd party product but looks even better than the BMW pdc. The high res pics can be viewed here: http://www.mycgiserver.com/~jaqkar/bmw/318is.htm http://www.mycgiserver.com/~jaqkar/bmw/102.jpg http://www.mycgiserver.com/~jaqkar/bmw/103.jpg http://www.mycgiserver.com/~jaqkar/bmw/104.jpg http://www.mycgiserver.com/~jaqkar/bmw/105.jpg http://www.mycgiserver.com/~jaqkar/bmw/101.jpg agapehme 07-05-2002, 12:09 PM Really clean car. I like the steering wheel. Not quite sure about the wheels tho....guess it is the same response I put the 330 wheels on my car. The right hand drive brings back good memories. Why did you choose those wheels? AD williamlyons 07-05-2002, 03:07 PM Hi, your car is really nice, it seems like new! And the white on white colors are great! I have the same beautiful wheels of yours on my 318 ci!! It is the 1.9 liter - 8valves - 118hp. ...which engine have you got? Is it the 1.9 liter - 16valves - 140hp engine of the european 318is? How do you find it in acceleration? Mine it is fast but not enough, so i'm thinking to make a chip-tuning and to put a race air filter, in order to gain a dozen of HP. Do you see a slowdown of power when you put the climatizer ON? Mine has a little slowdown. Bye! Ps i'm trying to put a picture of my car, but the site doesn't allow it to me and i'm trying to find why!!! Ciao! williamlyons 07-05-2002, 03:45 PM It doesn't allow me to attach pictures, i try to put it in the profile. Bye:rolleyes: Swoxy 07-06-2002, 04:20 PM Nice car, looks real classy! What's wrong with the wheels - they give a clean look to the car, complimented by that subtle bodykit. Is that white leather? Looks great! jaqkar 07-07-2002, 01:29 PM Hi Guys Thanks for the compliments on the car and wheels, just to answer the questions, I chose the wheels because I got them with good condition Bridgestones for one hell of a bargain :) Agapehme your M3 looks really cool !!! Yes my car is the 1.9 liter - 16valves - 140hp engine of the european 318is, its acceleration is ok and also a little bit of power loss when I put on the aircon/climatizer but I hardly notice it anymore, the car has white/grey leather and only 80000km on the clock, one of the cleanest 318is around, I searched far and wide for it, it still has all the stuff it came out with little torch, spanners, books etc. and I decided im not going to do anything to the engine to keep it as original as possible. I was thinking of one last thing I wanna do to it and that is white color coding of the door handles, what do you guys think cheers Swoxy 07-07-2002, 05:03 PM I think that would be a good idea, maybe you should do the rubbing strips at the same time? Why don't you take a look at other modified 3-Series and see what you think! agapehme 07-08-2002, 06:17 AM I have seen a silver and a red E46 with colour coded handles and rub strips that looked pretty good. Make sure you look at others as "Swoxy" suggested. jaqkar 07-09-2002, 04:56 AM do you know where to get pics of those who made the strips etc. white agapehme 07-09-2002, 07:13 AM I believe they were painted. Send me a private message with your e-mail address and I'll send you some pictures. Andre Salvy11 07-12-2002, 01:12 PM Nice car! I REALLY like your interior. White on white looks nice! :flash: -JKS Rossco 07-13-2002, 03:59 AM Looks Great! Almost the same as my car, only you have better mags. Also my car has Black Leather Interior instead. I've got the same rims on my 1992 318i .. :) ... came with the car. They look nice, but I really don't like how they handle compared to the factory. It didn't take long for the front right rim to get a little bent... I went in, and apparently it's because of the tuning of the E36's... the factory shocks and potholes / hills don't work very well.. it won't be long before you bend your rims a bit. Not noticable until you go to balance... if you have the money, change your springs before you start feeling wheel vibration... Here's my 318I ... (yes, I know it has a Euro front liscence plate... but it's a north american car with the NA small liscence plate on the back) :) NC vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
