Hello, I am not new to automotiveforums but I am new to the Subaru. I got rid of my 2004 Evo and bought a brand new 2006 TR, my factoring decision 26 out the door, boxer motor, 2.5 motor w/ .2 compression difference from STI=a lot of potential. Anyways I was wondering, I haven't gone over 5,000rpms and I drive it about 70-75 on the freeway is there anything else I should consider while braking the car in? So far I have 200 miles on it. (Oh yea and I know that the engine isnt the only thing different between the Sti & WRX but for 10g's diff I can take a hit.)

I woulda thought 5000rpm is a bit high to break a car in?

Breaking it in just involves a lot of driving at different rpms, but never going to high. I woulda though 4000rpm is about as high as u should go.

Also remember to break the brakes in as well.

A lot of start and go traffic should be good for both tasks.

And the obvious, no launching or hard shifts or racing for at least the 1000mark. i just hit my break in point and never took it past 4g
