Arrow No Reference?

Okay, I have had some extensive checking done on my car (1990 IRoC 305 tuned port) and There seems to be no reference signal... When I hook a noid light up to the injectors the light pulses for about a second, then it comes on full time. The module in the distributer has been changed, and took in and tested just to be sure... the injectors are good, measuring 12 ohms. When a scanner is hooked up, there is no information sent to it, but the wiring is good from the computer. No broken wires or grounded wires from the plug to the computer. I know the TPS is good because it was checked with a multimeter. I know its getting fuel pressure, I know the vats is working because it tries to start. If I am trying to track down the wires from the injectors to the computer do they change colors anywhere? What actually sends the reference signal? THe pickup coil in the distributer?

Has anyone ever heard of a PRom going bad in a camaro? THe computer was changed but the prom was not. I am told by everyone that I know pretty much that it is super rare that they would ever go bad. I want the car running, and it has to be something simple, but I dont want to go throwing any more good money after bad...

ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks....

Re: No Reference?

Yes, PROM's do go bad. You also need to check your inj1 & 2 fuses if you haven't already. The ref pulse comes off of the ignition module. When you replaced it, did you use an AC Delco module? If not, get one. The off brand modules are total crap.

Re: No Reference?

On a side note, it would have been nice to keep your thread going as a refrence for not only those trying to help you, but those who may have a similar problem and do a search on it later. Thus at the moment, your started thread is now a dead end no solution as most.
