Rear Bumper Cover Removal

Need some help. I recently bought a '91 RS that has minor damage to the rear bumper cover. I have a new one and am ready to install it. I have taken the license plate holder and tail lights off. I know there are four bolts (two on each side) that are located in the "trunk" area, and have removed those as well. There are 11 "clips" (6 on top; 5 on bottom) of the bumer cover that hold it to the body. How do I remove those clips? Do I need to remove the entire bumper assembly from the car to get to them? I'd really rather not take the entire bumper off, but I just don't see any other way to get to those clips. Thanks for any help!
