It's doing it again, couple of weeks ago my car wouldn't start because the overheating problem well I thought so but yesterday after I came back from a short trip to the store it would not start and like when used to overheat I waited like two hours to try again and started fine but yesterday wasn't hot but it did it 3 times but the last time I was exiting the freeway and suddenly it shut off no warning I recall that the last couple of days did not have a smooth acceleration every time I tried to accelerate felt like a little jump or bump my brother told me could be the fuel filter or the fuel pump the engine it's not receiving enough gas, but it's weird that I have to wait 2 hours so it can start every time I turn it off (again) what do you guys think could be causing this problem.

Take the plastic cover off from the passenger side inner fender, and locate the ECM (computer). With the cr running, lightly tap on the ECM with a screwdriver handle or a soft faced hammer (lightly). If the car stumbles or stalls while you're tapping, you found your problem. This is the easiest to test and these ECM have a high failure rate due to being mounted under the hood rather than in the passenger compartment. If the ECM passes this "tap test, you need to determine if you lose spark when it dies. IF so, either the crank sensor (back of the block just above the oil pan rail) is going bad, or the ignition module (under the coil packs on the front of the engine above the starter) is getting hot and breaking down. If you have spark, you need to get a fuel pressure guage and test fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Pressure should be 31-35 psi key on/ engine off. One other thing to test is for injector pulse. You can buy a cheap noid light and unplug an injector and plug the noid light into the injector connector. Crank the engine and the noid light should flash as you crank. If it doens't, were back to either a bad ECM or Crank Sensor.
