Need some help!! The 2.2 4 cyl. motor in my 1995 Camry idles very irradically. When I start it, it will idle up to 4000 RPM's, then back down to 1000 RPM's. It will continue to cycle in this manner, and the pushing on the gas pedal has not effect on this cycling. Any thoughts of what could be causing this?? Computer? Sensor? :banghead:

How about regular maintenance?
Spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap?

The Haynes manual says (from easiest to more complex):
vacuum leak
leaking EGR valve
clogged air filter
fuel pump/low fuel pressure
leaking head gasket
worn timing belt/pulleys
camshaft loabes worn

Go to Autozone.com They have maintenance info on all these areas on your specific car. Type "camry idle" in the search block for this forum. There's 50+ posts concerning idle. One minute there clued me in to the Idle Air Control Valve and cleaning the throttle body. Go to the post at the top of the forum labeled: 94 Camry Service Manual and open or download it. Your 95 will be pretty much identicle to the info for a 94. There's plenty of free info out there. When it's all said and done don't forget to let us in on the fix.
