Radio Problems - Blaupunkt Bolgna C50

The car stereo is one of those with a removable front piece and a 10 CD changer in the boot. It spontaneously started powering on and off last week. So now it will neither stay on or turn off. Anyone come across this problem before. Do I need a new stereo? Should I try replacing just the removable piece?

the 6disk (or 10disk in your car) fail alot on theese cars. There about 250 or so for a rebuilt on from the vw dealer (6disk). and to replace there easy, just unbolt the 2 screws on the sides and pull out and disconnect.
