Oxygen sensor replacement-question please...
I replaced the O2 sensor in my 95 cavalier 2.3, do I need to reset the computer or pull the battery cable for 10 minutes? The check engine light keeps coming on after a few miles driving and I tried this--I didn't go to a garage to check out the sensor-it only cost 19.95 at VIP so I guessed at this one!! How would you resolve the O2 sensor setting please? Thanks for your replies..

Pull the wires off the batt. for 30 min-hr and see what happens. It should go off.

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement-question please...
could it possibly be that your sensor is perfectly fine, and what it senses is the problem?

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement-question please...
On the 95 disconnecting the battery wont clear the stored code. You should have the OBD one system with the OBD 2 connector. You gotta find a place like Advance or AutoZone that has a scanner that will read and clear the codes. Under the drivers side kick panel theres a connector. If its the 16 pin OBD 2 connector with pins 2, 4,5,9 and 16,it the same screwed up system I have. Good Luck

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement-question please...
I have a code reader thats not the problem. RK Sport make o2 simulators for everything but the ecotec motor. I was wanting to know if anyone else has found someone who does make the simulator for the ecotec.

so why dont you just delete the post instead of making another post apoligizing for it???? i mean shit, youve been here a month and you have well over 100 posts already
this thread is a perfect example, you didnt know the answer to the guys question, so instead of just moving on to the next thread, you wasted your time, and the space in this thread to type "i dont know"

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement-question please...
BB128, I viewed the connection under the steering column and I do have the same 2,4,5,9,16 pin connector as you do. Why did you mention good luck if I have the same as you? What problems did you run across when you had a OBD connected to your car? Thanks for any info....
[PS:I did have a guy connect his OBD to my car before the check engine light came on and the OBD didn't recognize the car, I had to give him the VIN and he entered it in so the machine would read the car!! GEEZ, what fun I have had with this POS!! All I wanted was a winter beater and I received more head aches than I ever had with my 6 Hondas I normally drive for the past 10+ yrs!!]
