About 2 months ago our 2004 Passat break lights would nope stop from being on. We went through each fuse and found the one that was having the problem and replaced it. ((Didn't take note at the time which fuse it was))

Now both the brake lights went out at the same time, which sways me to a fuse. Hard to figure all three break lights would go out at same time.

I look in the Passat owner manual and for fuses it says see booklet 3.2. THERE IS NO BOOKLET 3.2!!

So I went through each fuse 1 by 1 and didn't see any that were blown.

Could anyone let me know what could be wrong?
Which fuse is the break lights for a 2004 Passat? ((1.8t 20 valve Auto trans.)) The fuse Card says #7 and #16 and #41 are the (ABS) but only a fuse inb #7. Other 2 are empty.

Any help on this would be great. The VW dealership is closed till monday and it's hard to get in since I have to work while they are open.

problably a bad brake light switch... they are poor design

I took it into the delaer since it was still on Waur.
And it was the Brake light switch..
