1988 Corvette Question

I've recently purchased a 1988 Corvette and it needs shock absorbers. The parts magazines show for the 1988 year that to install these the "Selective ride option" has to be disconnected. Does anyone know what this is and how do I know if my car has it? Thanks!

Look for a control switch on the console. No switch no select ride.
