93 Intrepid ES stalling problem

Hi all, newbie here, this is my first post. I just bought a 93 Intrepid ES a month ago, it's a pretty car, 130,000K, and runs great when cold, but after it warms up, it stalls almost every time I stop at a redlight or stop sign, or turn a corner slowly. As I am coming to a stop, the rev needle doesn't stop its descent at a proper idle, it just keeps on going down to about 500 and dies. If I keep tweaking the gas pedal while coming to a stop, it doesn't stall, it settles down into a 700rpm idle after a few seconds.
I have run some injector cleaner thru it, installed new plugs, and replaced the TPS, none of this helped...
I was about to buy an IAC Valve, but I just read in another thread that someone with a similar problem was advised that it might be the torque converter clutch not releasing. Is there a way to determine if this is causing the stalling before I invest in a new IAC Valve? (I plan to spray some cleaner into the throttle body tomorrow). And what other troubleshooting can I do to resolve this problem?
Any and all ideas and advice will be greatly appreciated!
