Re: Track Day
Not bad, not bad at all!!
Track is fun isn't it? That is all I go for...to enjoy the people, the cars, and my car.

Thats one of the reasons, you meet new people and get to see nice cars. You also know exactly how fast your car is, not just based on what you have raced. Another reason is that I can't afford to get arrested for streetracing again, not to fun...

Ever drive one?
Ever race your car at the track?
If not, then it might not seem as obvious, but if you have, then you know why.
Not always easy getting 370 RWHP off the line quickly.

Re: Track Day
I say this out of respect and no offense to any1 but... how can a 03 cobra run 14's. I know its a shit poad of power ur putting through just 2 tires but iv seen races of cobras and STI's. The STI pulls for the first 15 ft then the cobra just eat it up. I never saw a cobra do a 1/4 in real life but it seems odd for the most powerful mustang in production to hit 14's.

Same way I was able to run a 15.4 here.
First time ever at the track...you have NO idea what you are doing.

Re: Track Day
I know I thought the SVT would kill me, I barely had him all the way to the 1000ft mark. My quater mile was 14.147@97.91mph and his was 14.138 102.08. Also I had a typo he beat me by .009. I am hoping just the heads on my camera are messed up by you can partial see that race if you want me to post it.

Re: Track Day
Good post! For some of us without access to drag strips, it's nice to know what can really happen in races with different cars. Sounds like you did real good.
Also just to clarify, from Hot Rod Magazine, January 2004:
'04 Mustang Cobra
BHP=390
Torque=390 ft/lb
Supercharged, 8.0 psi
1/4 mile:* 13.30@109.0mph
Weight: 3665 lbs
'04 Subaru WRX sti
BHP=300
Torque=300 ft/lb
Supercharged, 14.5 psi
1/4 mile: 13.29@100.5mph
Weight: 3263 lbs
According to the article, the Cobra suffers from poor traction with *stock tires and it's independent rear suspension. Fix those factors, and it would destroy (12's) an sti, at least in a straight line. The sti handles much better around corners.
