1999 Grand Am Heater and A/C Problems and Blinker Issues.

Alright my wife has a 99' Grand Am the A/C and Heater wouldn't work I thought it was the blower so I took it out had it tested and it worked fine. So then I thought well maybe it was the instrument panel where you turn it from high to low those settings. So I replaced the whole thing. Still didn't work. So I went through all of the fuses and checked them found one that was blown so I replaced that and now it works but only on high. None of the other setting low or medium work. What could be causing this?

My other problem not a huge deal but her left blinker blinks very very fast my wife and I joke that is on crack. I went through replaced every bulb in her car and it still does it. She is telling me sometimes now it will go back to normal but only for a little bit. What could I do for this?

And finally she just started telling me when she turns her car makes a groaning noise she says its not hard to turn but it just makes a weird noise. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but I was wondering if it could be low on steering fluid?

The blower problem is due to the blower motor resistor. It is located next to the fan motor. It costs between 20 and 50 dollars at a dealer. Not hard to replace just hard to get to. As for the growling noise check the fluid in the power steering as that can cause this issue although if it is full you may have to check for a bad wheel bearing especially if the car does it while she is moving.

As for the blinker issue, there is a switch behind the center of the dash that goes bad. Search the forum and you should find further information on this. Actually I believe there is a recall on this part so you may want to check recalls.gov or check with your dealer.

OK so I took out the resistor and it was broken. Man it was a pain in the ass to get out. Now I searched the forum to find a switch behind the center console but I couldn't find anything on it. Maybe someone could help me with that. And I put more steering fluid in and that fixed the problem there. So 1 down 2 more to go.

Try this, it is a NHTSB technical service bulletin for your car related to the turn signals.

Search recalls.gov and go to equipment technical service bulletins. I tried to post a link but it would not work.

I was thinking the Blinker issue was 2000 and up.

I know of two for sure,CONSOLE COVER
And a steering wheel issue.

None of those issues is for the problem I'm having with the blinker. Does someone know where I can find this switch or give me a name of it so I can do some research on it. GTP Dad said it was in the center console and if I search the forum I would find something about it but I have yet to find anything for it. Can someone help me out with this.

The blinker is in the center part, where the radio is[two buttons], 1 is Traction control, the other one on the right is the 'hazzerd switch'.
That whole big plastic piece comes off with a straight slot screw driver, or a panel tool(used to remove panels), once you take it off the two button/switches hav wires pluged into them. the plastic circle from the ignition will fall off too.

-But that fast blink turnsignal would indicate a light bulb is blown or it is NOT making a good conection all the time.
