top speed

my friend has a 86 toyota pickup. he is going to put a built ford 5.0 in it, and a built aod. now he want to keep the 3.08s out back, and he has 28 inch tall tires. i tried to tell him that the top speed of the truck will be around 200 mph, if you could ever get it up there. now he tinks that the motor will be able to do 7500rpm long enough to get up to that speed. now he wont listen to me, so will someone please help me with that.

Re: top speed

NASCAR racing trucks have a hard time reaching 200 mph at Daytona. Has your friends truck been in a wind tunnel and body panels modified for less drag? Will the engine he's installing have about 750 hp? He's dreaming.
