torque converter

can u use an old torque converter when u replace a transmission?or can u clean the old one:banghead:

i suppose, but i have heard that if either the torque converter or the transmission goes out, it will make the other one go out. i would just pick up one somewhere... stock ones are typically well under 300 dollars. if you are just swapping trannies for no real reason tho, i dont see why you would need a new one, only if changing tranny types (example th350 to th400) or if the old tranny went bad...
