new to forums/ need tranny help

i own a 91 honda accord that is starting to have problems with the tranny.
the car will not move when it is put in drive, i have to give it gas and you can hear the engine streaining to move. once the car is going and i pickup speed it is fine. it feels like it is taking off in 2nd gear. is their a quick fix or should i take it to a tranny shop and get taken for some money?

thanks for the help

Electronics. Possibilities:

1. The TCM. Is the D4 or S led on all the time or blinking?
2. Shift solinoid.

Read the FAQ, it has all you need to know.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Yes it does. Did you pull your codes? Did you follow any of the instructions? 'S' light whether flashing or staying on, means either the speed sensor or the TCU. Both are covered in the FAQ.
