Audi R10 vs. The World

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm pretty excited about Audi's new R10. I'm just curious to see how successful everyone is predicting the car will be. Does anyone think it will be the all conquering machine that the R8 was, or will it go down as a historic, albeit failed attempt at winning Le Mans with a modern diesel machine?

While I'm at it, I'll go ahead and ask how everyone thinks the car will fare in the American Le Mans series as well.

My predictions? The first races here in the states may not go that well, but they will get the car set up right by the time the big Paris event rolls around. I'm thinking that yet another Audi victory will be in store for us.

The car's closest competition may come from Porsche, whose new car is already spitting out fantastic times in practice for this year's first American Le Mans series race. (Even though their new car is actually placed in a supposedly less competitive class than the Audi!)

Anyway, just thought I'd see if anyone else is interested or had any insight on the subject...

Oh yes... one more thing.

Here’s the Audi webpage with a VERY cool promotional video of the car. It’s definitely worth downloading and keeping.

Hope everyone enjoys it!

It take it that nobody was interested in this topic? Fine! BE that way!

Actually, I wonder if I should have put this in a racing forum...

The R10 will have great gas mileage at Le Mans, but the advantage might not be that great at Sebring. Plus, Dyson Racing's new Lolas should be fast.

2007 will bring a lot of new prototypes.

It'll be interesting to see it go. It being Audi, I'm sure it'll be good stuff.

It's important to read, like the Bible. But unlike the Bible we will strike you down if you jerk off around here.

Here is a video of the new R10 from Sebring testing. A Panoz Esperante GTLM can be heard at the end.
