Volvo 850 Transmission Slipping

I've got a '93 850 with an automatic transmission. It started slipping on the way home and by the time I got home, it wouldn't make it up the driveway. But, it would in reverse. Fluid level is OK and doesn't smell burnt.

Does it sound like it's gone or could it be something repairable without replacing the tranny?

Re: Volvo 850 Transmission Slipping

How many miles are on the transmission. Also the '93 is the first model year of the 850 and the auto tranny's are notorious for going bad in that year. I'm not a pro with autos so you probaly wanna run it by a shop
