Accord with 131k howls on highway. mostly above 30 mph. It's certainly not the engine. I am guessing wheel bearings, but it is winter here, think taking pressure washer and hosing the front suspension could help, salt build-up is terrible here this time of year.

Any other opinions or experiences?

Park the car, grab the top of the tire nad pull out towards you (away from engine) if you can move it noticeably, it's your wheel bearings.

Went out and pulled on the tire. It had a little give but I wouldnt save noticable. This howling has been on going for about 2 weeks...

-No shake in the wheel
-No pulling thats severe
-I just hosed the front suspension off w/ high pressure and it's still there
-You can only notice it when your above 30mph.
-When you come down an off-ramp lets say you can here the howling/groaning decrease with your actual speed. It's certainly suspension or tires.


Anything else it could be?

P.S. My gas mileage has taken a nice dip as well , typically it was 28 mpg AVG , now its about 22 AVG

I would look at the tires. I would also suggest feeling the entire area around the bearings and compare to the other one after a good drive. You could have one bearing that is bad. The feeling of the area around the bearings is to note the temp and compare to the other side. I assume the tires are wearing fine and though you have said there is no shaking of the wheel, does it pull to one direction? Are the lugs tight? One thought is the skirting under the car, is it loose or properly secured to limit the vibration that air movement could cause?
