Anomaly of the week

Here goes!

I bought my G in february...when I bought this car it needed to be repaired from a minor accident it had. Now the funny thing is that the ABS never worked U N T I L it magically fixed itself yesterday. This happen to anyone else? Also another symptom is the head lights. When I was parked with the engine running I turned off the headlights (e brake already pulled) All of a sudden my headlights turned on then turned off (by themselves) looked like day running intensity...not sure.

I have to admit I'm baffled here....Also I want rid of the ABS I imagine I can simply remove the fuse?

same thing happened to me last winter. i was going up a huge hill at night w/ traffic. this little piece of shit geo metro started sliding across lanes right at me. i hit my brakes and ABS came on. missed the guy by about a foot. he heard a few words from me. anyway, my ABS light didn't go off. when i got to the top of the hill, and there were no other cars around i decided to test the ABS. sure enough it didn't work. i drove home w/o ABS. i went out to my car about 2 hrs later and the light was off and ABS worked. i went to boulder nissan and they had no idea what was up.
bottom line- i can't answer your question, but i had a similar experince

That's close to my story. About 6 months after I got the car me and my girlfriend went to see Blairwitch Project. After the movie I scared her to half death in the car. Then I got scared myself - the ABS light came on after I started the car. Well, I drove around with no ABS for around 10 minutes (in Estonian winter!). Then I turned off the car and when I returned to it in about 15 minutes everything was just fine. Weird...

I had something like that happen once. I had just gotten done drilling the hole in my firewall for the powerwire on my old G. I turn on the car to see if the amps would turn on and such. And the ABS light is on. So I'm like "uhh, shit?" I turn the car off.. finished wiring up the system. A few hours later I took the car for a quick spin and ABS was off again.

That happened to me too ...I was driving on a really snowy day and the car was running fine. Then there was a small incline where i had stopped before the lights. As I started the front wheels began slipping. I braked to stop the car from sliding sideways into the other lane. ABS lights came on and wouldn't go off. For some funny reason ...the car seemed to be dragging the rear wheel because I couldn't move forward ...even with my 5 years snow driving experience. And this continued for a whole hour .while I slowly nursed the car forward...felt like the whole rear end was dragging ..even on a downhill. Thats the only time I hated my G.

Check out your engine temperature sensor (not the one for the gauge), it tells the ECU how warm your engine is so it can adjust the air/fuel ratio. Just a guess but at least it's somewhere to start, maybe the terminal just fell off.
