supsension problems

Hi everyone im in need of some new struts for my 94 lumina euro. the old ones are really old and give quite a bumpy ride. if anyone knows of a auto store that sells them cheap i would appreciate the info.
....also how big a project is it to change front and rear struts on lumies? from what i've seen from shopping online, they looks a lot harder than shocks on a suv

thanks

need a special tool to open up front strut housing tops unless your 94 is different than a 91, you can buy tool online too.A 91 used front strut cartridges, you dont replace the whole thing.
Rear struts a are a bit more difficult, but with proper instructions, no special tools needed.

Re: supsension problems

Watch doing the rears you will need some type of clamping device to hold the auxiliary spring in place.

Re: supsension problems

On the rears, buy the ones that come complete, with the mounts, jounce bumpers and boots installed. They're much easier to install, and if you don't replace everything, you're wasting your time. Plus, the car will need an alignment (these cars require a 4 wheel alignment), so do it right the first time.

I couldnt find any OE type with boots or bumpers, but bought KYB boots made with bumpers in them from Advance auto for about 15.00 each

Re: supsension problems

Ac Delco offers them for the 96-prior with the transverse leaf spring rear suspension for about $100 ea. The part number is 503-359, just for reference.

Re: supsension problems

Careful, if yours has the rubber things at the bottom of the rear struts - they're a huge pain. If not, they're really easy.
