Well it's beginning...driftjunke 02-07-2006, 10:05 PM We just dropped the motor, working on the adapter plate now. As soon as we get the position finalized we will start on the twin turbo setup. This won't be the only one like it, but we will have a Daytona Blue twin of it. http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45b.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45c.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45e.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45f.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45g.JPG E Skylindrftr 02-07-2006, 10:10 PM sweet merciful crap that's a cool swap! What infiniti engine is that? Chuki_breath 02-07-2006, 10:14 PM definantly different. Im assuming custom hood? Doesnt look like it would clear, could be the pics though. R.W.240 02-07-2006, 11:20 PM sweet merciful crap that's a cool swap! What infiniti engine is that? VH41DE Please god make a new intake manifold. If I see that intake manifold sticking out of the hood or a cowl I'm gonna cry. Wheres your transmission adapter plate coming from / what transmission? What Management are you gonna run? If my current motor pops I'm totally gonna do an N/A VK/VH for mega N/A power. AWDSR20 02-08-2006, 03:06 AM R U serious?! wow, i want N/A now!!!! driftjunke 02-08-2006, 09:53 PM Sorry guys, didn't mean to start trouble, just posting up some pics, as for the motor, it's a VH45DE, the big boy 4.5 not the smaller 4.1. As for our pistons, JE is making them, Carrillo or Crower are doing our rods, and we are going to get custom regrinds. We are still going twin turbo on this though, stock bottom end we're shooting for 550-600, built we're going for 1500+. More pics to come. E TRUBO_89 02-08-2006, 10:01 PM what kind of turbos r u planning on using? wow setup though...that thing is gonna be a monster nissan_240sx 02-08-2006, 10:30 PM props man Swigz 02-09-2006, 01:49 AM Cleaned up the trash from the thread. SR20: If you insist on instigating petty arguments I will ban you for good. I've warned you enough. Now, ON WITH THE THREAD. If you have comments about my post, message me. That looks awesome man, definitely a unique swap and one I personally haven't seend one before. Keep us updated . I've only heard of the VH41 and the VK45. IIRC the VKs were wider and wouldnt fit. What Management are you gonna run? Wheres your transmission adapter plate coming from / what transmission? Fuck, I really want to do that. The thought of an ITB V8 sitting in between tubbed fenders is making my pants wet. D-Bo 02-09-2006, 04:37 PM thats a crazy cool idea. i'm curious to see the actual output.. and what ARE you going to do with your hood?? sRscooby 02-09-2006, 06:45 PM 1500hp!!?!? that's going to be an everything killer 2.4L of Torque 02-09-2006, 09:02 PM 1500HP + HUH? Good Luck. Wont be a DD for sure. EDIT: RW 240 "VH45DE 1990-1996 Infiniti Q45, 278 hp, 294 ft.lbf" Im pretty sure it had VVT too. Chuki_breath 02-10-2006, 06:37 PM i guess he could shim the hood in the rear a bit, like some drifters/draggers do. Looks like a mini cal sort of. But you'll have gap along the fender a bit lol. But whatever it takes to work.....for now atleast. Dunno how much actual clearance he'll need. But it may work for a temporary setup. 2.4L of Torque 02-10-2006, 08:08 PM Got Torque? D-Bo 02-10-2006, 09:24 PM 1500 is crazy high. i'd like to see what you'll do with the frame.. 1000 for some reason seems much more realistic. if things are done properly then its probably not too far away. driftjunke, you don't have to tell us how much this costs if you don't want to.. i'd like to know what the rest of you guys think about the price.. once turbos are in and the engine is tuned, i'd say this swap is costing $11,000 any other shots at the price?? Hit_N_Run-player 02-10-2006, 11:40 PM damn, that be some wicked badass stuff... ted_ex 02-11-2006, 10:09 AM What are you using in terms of drivetrain? I would think some form of powerglide and a 10 bolt rear or something similar with that kind of power. Do you have any pics of the mounts or anything? I'd like to see the physical modifications required. Also, what's the wiring look like? I'd guess this could be done for about 15k all said and done if you are doing all the fab and install in house. R.W.240 02-11-2006, 09:25 PM 1500HP = Drag Car = Me not caring anymore. 750ish and a 6spd for a road course car would have had me hiding in your bushes out side your garage jerkin it, though. ted_ex 02-11-2006, 10:06 PM 1500HP = Drag Car = Me not caring anymore. 750ish and a 6spd for a road course car would have had me hiding in your bushes out side your garage jerkin it, though. awesome. I vote for the 750 and the masturbation in the foliage. driftjunke 02-12-2006, 01:09 PM 1500 horsepower is not coming right now, we are building a motor for that, and at that point it will become a drag car. As for now, the stock bottom end can handle upwards of 750, where we will push for 650 for now. We are going to modify the stock hood to clear the custom intake manifold, and turbos. For us to replicate this, we won't have to modify the car at all, but on our personal car, we're going to modify and strengthen the front frame rails so we can fit our 3 inch downpipes. Turbos are going to sit right behind the headlights slightly raised. We are working on the turbo manifolds at this moment and will have pics of them this week, the hard thing is, they will only be log style due to our space constraints, but we hope will flow enough for 650. We are making and adapter plate to run the Z32 5spd tranny on this current setup, but after 650-750, with the built motor hitting 1500 we will step up to a powerglide, with an aftermarket diff. Pricing to replicate this swap are undetermined, but if all goes well, we will look forward to doing more :) The car will be caged to strengthen the chassis and keep us alive. Here are a few more pics. Later E http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45k.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45h.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45i.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45j.JPG Chuki_breath 02-12-2006, 02:03 PM good luck. looks good. driftjunke 02-14-2006, 11:35 PM Finished up the driver side manifold today, halfway done with passenger side. Log style for the time being, will probably be the temporary setup, I think we can fit more of a tube style header in there but it will make it even more of a tighter fit. With this setup we're going to use a mid-pipe to connect the manifold to the turbo to make install easier for the turbos, but the manifolds have to gone on with the motor out of the car, very tight fit, very. Here's a few pics of one of the manifolds, made it up in a few hours, nothing special yet... http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt1.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt2.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt3.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt4.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt5.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt6.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt7.JPG E nissan_240sx 02-15-2006, 02:12 AM Nice, very nice work. keep us updated good luck TRUBO_89 02-15-2006, 05:11 PM holy shit... asked this a while back but what kind of turbos? driftjunke 02-16-2006, 11:07 PM Here's the money shots, just the driverside turbo mounted on, we're going to wind up using on-center exhaust housingsto make them sit properly, and modify the manifold again, smaller runner for quicker spool. Here's some pics, show some clearances too. http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt9.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt11.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt12.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt13.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt14.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt15.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt17.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt18.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt19.JPG http://www.ga240sx.com/images/vh45tt21.JPG E Importboom 02-16-2006, 11:10 PM dude i love you, i spooges all over my leg when i saws that first picture hahah sweet ride XeVeNskyLiNE 02-17-2006, 12:18 AM DAMN thats huge.
