what model years does that idle re-learn trick work for?

mine is a 93 Euro.

Also, before i last disconnected the battery, my lumina developed the habit of occasionally trying to stall if i let off the gas suddenly and hit that brakes. it would also occasionally do this when i was stopped and let off the brake and pressed the gas. it only did this when the engine was warm. is this an idle re-learn fix as well or are there some other potential culprits?
