For Sale, 98 Rodeo 4cyl, needs engine work

I've got a 98 Rodeo S for sale that needs engine work or replacement. It is a 4cyl, 2wd, 5sp, with A/C and 111,000 miles. The body and interior are in pretty good shape. Vehicle is in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Auction ends Feb 11, 2006. Check it out at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Isuzu...10607340QQrdZ1

Re: For Sale, 98 Rodeo 4cyl, needs engine work

I guess that means it was one of those "interference" engines? And not to rag on the guy, but a 2.2L 4banger 2wd? What's the point? I'm still learning, but was that just a (GM) marketing thing to get people to buy an "SUV"? Anyway, looks like there are enough parts to make someone happy for the price....hmmm, I wonder...nah, wife would kill me. But it is interesting how little the interior layout changed from '93 - '98.

Re: For Sale, 98 Rodeo 4cyl, needs engine work

It was a marketing thing. My wife bought it before we married when she lived in Florida so no need for 4x4 and 4 cyl was ok since mostly traffic driving in Tampa then. Good vehicle except for the timing belt issue in that engine.

That's kinda what it sounded like and probably a great idea at the time. Marketing is why I have a whole lot of crap I don't need, but I do love my truck. Good luck on your auction!

Re: For Sale, 98 Rodeo 4cyl, needs engine work

Nice little project truck for someone! That 2.2L 4cyl is the same exact engine used in the daewoo nubira/lanos small FWD cars. Okay engines as long as you change the timing belt and inspect the idlers/tensioner every 30Kmi. FWIU, the idler(s) get funky and cause the T-belt to pop off. Would be alright if it was a non interference engine, but of course it's not .
