crazy stereo

I have a 90 3.1 with a stereo that seems to be posessed. Just installed about a week ago. Now no sound, retraced all wiring. Weird part is if you turn on the park lites or headlites the radio will play for about 2-3 seconds then cut out again. Also getting a 2volt reading from speaker wires at harness. Changed out h/l switch, thought maybe the problem no luck. Any suggestions.

Just a question, after market stereo? where did you attach the POS red wire, and where did you attach the (usually yellow) memory wire?
And... where did you attach the ground?

I had a VW Jetta that did a similar thing with aftermarket stereo, and i have no clue why, but you could NOT attach the ground on radio to the cars original radio ground wire, had to put it on the cars chassis.
Just food for thought......

Re: crazy stereo

sounds like you wired the radio power wire into the dash light wire. Re-check your wiring to ensure everything is hooked up properly.
