Stereo swap

I've got an 06 with the Bose CD system. I have seen the multidisk system and the navigation system on eBay and was considering upgrading my system. My question is in regards to my existing Bose setup. Is each speaker amplified individually? My 87 Camaro with the Bose setup has an amp at each speaker. Do I need to replace my speakers when I replace the head unit?

Yessir. Each speaker is individually amplified with the Bose system...really a pain in the ass when it comes to upgrading your system.

VERY nice ride, btw.

Re: Stereo swap

The amp is under the middle console for the system. The Bose is so weird, it uses like 7 ohm speakers and some weird amp for some reason....you're going to catch hell upgrading it from my experiences with bose installs......

Good luck though.

Re: Stereo swap

I'am about to get the factor nav for my truck and what I have been reading is that it will be a even swap. The Nav head unit has to have the same # as your bose amp and it should work.
