2006 Silverado AC Noise

The AC in my 06 silverado 1500 with 1200 miles is making an annoying hissing sound that mainly occurs when the temperature inside the vehicle is close to what the automatic electronic control is set to and when i am at low speed or stopped. Any ideas what is causing this and if it is repairable.

You will probably have more success asking this question on the brand board than the intro board.

Re: 2006 Silverado AC Noise

I got the same thing on my 2000 silverado .

does it go away if you turn on the a/c on high . mine does, but soon it comes back. but i just found out that if i rev. up the rpms pretty high and then let it idel , it goes away
Diffenantly has to due with the a/c and a/c clutch though.
