I am wanting to know the exact size of those BFGs you just put on your truck. I know they're 285s, but I was wondering the width.

I was trying so hard to put off buying new tires till I could afford some rims, but I just don't think I can hold off any longer, these factory rubbers are getting BAD (after only 28,000mi.....indicative of my driving style?? ) Anyways, I love the look of those BFGs so....thanks!

They're 285/70R17's which translate to about 11.2" width and 7.8" in hight... Overall Diameter is 32.8 ... I know what ya mean about those stockers, looks like you have the shiddy Bridgstone Dueller "A/T"s too... Mine wore worth shit as well. I've had tons of luck with them in the past and would highly recommend them!

Yessir...Duellers they are. I believe that when I bought the truck the salesman told me they were 60,000mi tires...now, either that is a complete load of shit or I'm just a really bad driver...

No the factory Bridgestones suck a big one. I sold mine to my buddy for his SS. Here in Eastern Washington with the salt and de-icer on the roadway it would eat up his factory 20's in a heartbeat. I have my Toyo's and there are only a couple othe brands that I would consider along with the toyo's

Yea, I had about 12K on my factory Duellers and they were at least half worn, I took it hunting in November nearly got stuck in a little slop and they aren't worth 2 shits in the snow... What they hell were they thinking??!!

It's all about saving a few bucks. Stock tires are almost always crap on all vehicles. Both my Impreza and my wife's Legacy GT came with Bridgestone RE92's. These have to be the worst pieces of crap on the market. They do nothing well and are effectively gone at 15k miles. My fathers jeep came with Wrangler HP's which were useless on anything but dry pavement (hello it's a Jeep). The only cars that come with good factory rubber are the higher end sports cars and sedans. These usually come with dedicated summer performance tires so you need to get winter tires.
As far as 60k miles, not a chance unless you drive like my grandfather("55 is the limit not the speed you have to drive"). Those high wear ratings usually mean two things. 1, the rubber is way too hard and 2, the tread pattern is designed for long wear and not grip. Also unless you rack up mileage fast the tires will degrade before they're worn out.

the best i have found for the buck is at the local farm stores. When i was in college i had to get the cheapest thing going, but thay could go 60k or more.

my old truck i was driving 100 miles a day and thay would last a year. that is not counting the miles i put on the truck for the week ends fishing trips and vacations. I would all ways take the vacation at the end of the summer so could have a fresh set of treds for the winter. for under 200 bucks and two lane highways that are in bad repair plus the very bad county roads full of nails. gettiing 40 to 60 + miles out of a set is doing very good.
