Wheels on a Neon

Does anyone know the maximum size/width you could fit on a Neon without making modifications to the factory base? I've got some 17x8's that I'm not sure will fit without making mods.

Thanks!

You MIGHT be able to get away with 8" wide wheels with spacers but don't take that for gospel. 7.5" is the widest I have heard of without modifying the fenders. But if the car is lowered, you would definitely need spacers.

I'm hoping the wheels are going to end up being 7 or 7.5" wide. A guy around here's selling some BMW wheels with tires for $195. They're in good condition, but he wasn't sure about the size or lug pattern, although he did know they were 5-lug. If nothing else I can resell them on eBay or in the paper!

Thanks!

Your welcome

I dunno what bolt pattern on a BMW is, but for Neons it is 5x100.
