Hello Everyone,

I am new to this board. I was hoping someone can help me out with a question. I have a 2000 4wd ls rodeo and it comes stock with 16x7 rims. Can i fit 15x8 Black rock crawlers on my rodeo? I have a 3.5" lift and would like to run 32x11.50x15's. I want to run 15x8 rims, but the 4Wheelparts rep told me i couldn't fit them because my calipers were too big. I would really like to stay away from a 16" rim and the metric tires which are both really expensive. TIA

Can't help you on the 15x8's, but if you're interested in selling your 16x7's, I might be interested.

I have the OEM steel 16x6 rims on my '97 and running the LT265/75's. I'd like to go to a somewhat wider rim for better tread wear, but not as wide as 16x8. I haul a boat with this truck - not as much as it used to - but I don't want that wide of a rim as some boat docks are a bit tricky to master anyway.

Don't want to make my turning radius hideous with an already 22' boat!

Can anyone refresh my memory, will the 2000 rims fit a '97?

When i do get the new rims on, I would definitely want to sell my stock rims. It should be about two week before I can get the new rims and tires. I will get in contact with you then if you are still interested. Thanks.

15x8 may or may not fit. Depends alot on back spacing. I've heard that 15's wont fit on a rodeo with 16's already on it, wont clear the caliper. Mainly aftermarket wheels that have the problem because of the back spacing. My '99 has 15's but they are factory and made to fit properly.

If they dont fit I have read posts about grinding down the calipers a bit to clearance them.

Would grinding down the calipers compromise its functionality? And hard would it be to do?

yeah, that's it...compromise your safety for looks

back spacing will be a problem. the calipers and rotors will most likely be ever so slightly too big.

especially in the front, where i believe the rotor is bigger than the back.

Thats what I thought about too, I have never done it. Functionality would be the same however I'm not sure about strength. I've read other posts of ppl that have done it though. I'm not sure how much they ground off. If its just a tiny bit I dont think it would be a problem.

With a mini grinder it should be fairly easy, more work with a file but still doable I think.
